I am not naturally a patient person. I hate waiting. Doesn’t matter if it’s being stuck in traffic, or a checkout line at the store, waiting drives me insane. So needless to say, patience isn’t one of my best virtues.

Over the past few years I’ve become an avid hunter. There’s nothing quite like being out in the woods before the sun comes up and watching nature awaken before you, while waiting for the opportunity to shoot dinner or a trophy for the wall.

As any hunter can attest, patience is the name of the game. You can plan, prep, and have a good idea of when the deer or turkey will come wandering near, but it’s never for certain.

The thing I’ve come to realize about hunting (and business) is that patience and consistency are what separates the good from the mediocre. Just when you’re ready to throw in the towel and climb down from the stand because it’s late in the morning and you haven’t seen anything, by patiently waiting it out just a little longer is when the trophy buck will walk around the corner just waiting for you to take the shot.
